LAWRENCEVILLE -- On Wednesday, police arrested a man they believe is responsible for a shooting homicide that occurred nearly a year ago at a CVS Pharmacy on Grayson Highway.
Police said the man they suspected of the robbery-homicide was already wanted in connection with a separate shooting that occurred on Dec. 9, 2011. For that incident, he was wanted for aggravated assault.
Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett County Police said that the suspect, Jamad Wallace, 21, has been on the run ever since.
Police arrested Wallace on Wednesday in DeKalb County.
"Deputies from the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office served Wallace with the outstanding warrants and transported him to the Gwinnett County Detention Center," Smith said.
Wallace remains in the local jail without bond.
The victim of the March 4, 2012, shooting at the CVS in Lawrenceville, Alex Delgado Ramos, 27, was found at 10 p.m. that night suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and died two days later as a result of the injuries.
At the time, Gwinnett County Police asked for the public's help in finding the suspect who they said fled the scene in a newer model silver or gold Chevy Impala.

This is what a felon looks like when the highly paid sheriff and prosecutor have to accept plea deals to convict a person. You folks need to change these positions once and for all. Any low paid employee could make deals. Cops used to tell me they wished someone would shoot these felons because we are tired arresting them over and over. Some comment huh? Blame your justice system for accepting these plea deals. The felons all know to use this tool to get a lighter or even no jail time.
