Greater Atlanta Christian grad Chris Thomas was selected by the New England Revolution in Tuesday's Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft.
Thomas, coming off a record-breaking college career at Elon, was taken early in the supplemental draft's second round, with the 23rd overall pick. The draft was four rounds and followed last week's two-round MLS SuperDraft, which saw Brookwood grad Walker Zimmerman go in the first round to FC Dallas.
The Revolution's newcomers also include the No. 1 overall pick in the SuperDraft, Louisville defender Andrew Farrell.
Thomas earned Southern Conference player of the years honors as a sophomore and a senior at Elon. He scored a school-record 53 goals in his college career, including 23 in his final season. A two-time Daily Post player of the year, he holds GAC records for career goals (143) and goals in a season (53).
