Hannah Shafer, age 77, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away of natural causes on Friday, January 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2013 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with Rev. Jim Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leonard Cain and Winnie Guthrie Cain of Gwinnett, her husband, Harry Shafer, and her two sons, Dorsey James Shafer and Ben Nim Shafer. Hannah married Harry Shafer, a prominent developer in Gwinnett, in 1953. She moved to Madison, Georgia in 2003. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and loved gardening of flowers and vegetables and her vineyard. Survivors include her daughters, Theresa Shafer of Madison and Linda Spivey of Lawrenceville; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Cain of Lawrenceville and Kenneth Cain of Grayson; many family and friends and her Dear Friend Boots! The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. (770) 564-2726
