April 22, 1919 - Dec. 18, 2012 George William Bishop, 93, died on Tuesday, Dec., 18, 2012 in Woodland California. Born on April 22, 1919, in Caruthersville, Mo., Mr. Bishop had lived in Woodland, California for the Past eight years. He was a resident of Lilburn, GA prior to moving to California. He had worked over his life as an architect, printer and builder. He was a 42 year member of Rotary International and awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship and a member of the Elks Lodge. During World War II, Mr. Bishop served in the 9th Air Force, Station at 39th Field Hospital. Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife of eight years, Naomi Barrow-Bishop, daughters Glenda Bishop and Theresa Mahecha, and sons Graham Bishop and Brian Bishop, as well as by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 P.M., Friday, February 1, 2013, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 1520 Oak Road, Snellville, GA 30078.
