ATLANTA — A football fan was stabbed in the neck following San Francisco 49ers-Atlanta Falcons NFL playoff game.
The incident occurred in a parking lot outside the Georgia Dome. Following the game, Falcons fans began arguing with a small group of 49ers fans.
The argument escalated and one fan punched another fan and then someone pulled a knife and slashed a 35-year-old man. He was not identified. It was reported that he was in stable condition at an Atlanta hospital.
A suspect has not been located.
Georgia World Congress Center police are handling the investigation. Police say they hope to speak to a woman spotted in the area, though it's unclear whether they view her as a suspect or witness.

Knives are very dangerous. We should have a ban on knives, or at least require them to be registered. And any individual carrying a knife should be required to get a permit and submit to a background check before they are allowed bye one.
