ALBANY -- An 18-year-old star football player at an Albany high school faces rape, kidnapping and false imprisonment charges, according to the Dougherty County Jail's automatic information system.
Dalviness Deion Greene, of the 600 block of Shamrock Drive, was arrested Tuesday by Dougherty County School System Police Department officers, said a jail spokeswoman. He remains in the jail.
According to the case report, a female classmate of Greene's told her parents that he attacked her on the 400 block of Kingswood Court behind Westover High School.
Friends of the victim, whose names were redacted from the report, told about the pursuit and rape, saying the assault began at about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 7 in the school near the snack machines.
"Greene pulled her (the victim) by her purse down the back stairs by the snack machines ... to the student parking lot, where he picked her up and put her inside of his older model green in color vehicle," the report stated.
Witnesses said the victim was driven to an alley behind the school.
Officers said the school's video system apparently taped something that is planned to be used as evidence. The case remains under investigation.
"I'm glad we have a good police force," school system spokesman R.D. Harter said. "I'm very glad we have a video system for evidence and that he is in jail."
