LAWRENCEVILLE -- "A mesmerizing presence" and "a born ballerina" are just two of the many phrases used to describe Cassandra Trenary while she's on stage.
Trenary, a Lawrenceville native, was named one of the top 25 dancers to watch in 2013 by "Dance Magazine."
She began classes in ballet and tap at the Lawrenceville School of Ballet Arts Academy at the age of 3. By 2006, she was an American Ballet Theatre National Training Scholar and by 2007 she was attending the ABT Summer Intensive Program in New York City.
Then, Trenary moved on to study at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. In April 2011, she joined ABT as an apprentice and within seven short months she was a member of the corps de ballet.
So what's in store for her this year?
Trenary will perform with ABT in "Le Corsaire" at the Kennedy Center, L.A.'s Music Center and the Met.
