ATLANTA — Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a school bus and a pickup truck in northwest Atlanta.
The accident occurred on Hightower Road near St. Joseph Avenue Wednesday afternoon, and officer John Chafee says children were taken to Hughes Spaulding Hospital for evaluations.
The bus was carrying students from Douglass High School and none of the teens are believed to be seriously injured.
Stephen Alford, Atlanta Public Schools spokesman, says the 29 students who were aboard the bus had been evaluated and released from the hospital as of Wednesday night.
Chafee says a white pickup truck with a silver toolbox fled the scene of the accident. Additional information was not immediately available.
