SAVANNAH — Police in Savannah say a cab driver has died after a truck hit him and pinned him between the truck and his cab.
Police say 38-year-old cab driver Scott Barrett and Kirk Deweese, a passenger, were standing behind the taxi loading an air compressor into the trunk when a pickup truck hit them and pinned them between the vehicles around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say Barrett died during surgery at Memorial University Medical Center. Officials say Deweese was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police say the crash is under investigation and charges have not been filed.
