LAWRENCEVILLE -- DragonCon co-founder Ed Kramer -- who has avoided trial on local child molestation charges for more than a decade -- may really be headed to Gwinnett for prosecution this time.

Kramer, accused of molesting three Gwinnett boys between 1996 and 2000, was denied this week a petition for certification filed with the Connecticut Supreme Court. The move was likely a final effort to help block his extradition to Gwinnett after the sci-fi convention founder reportedly violated his local bond by being found in a Connecticut motel room with a young boy.

The petition essentially asked the New England state's highest court to review the decision of the original appellate court, which denied Kramer's appeal of his extradition. The denial, filed Tuesday, upholds that court's decision.

Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter said Wednesday that "basically the only thing left to do is transport him here."

Porter said that he would expect a trial to be scheduled within two weeks of Kramer's arrival.

Since his original arrest, the case against Kramer has been delayed by claims of poor health, requests for special courtroom accommodations, suits and appeals. A Gwinnett judge let him off house arrest in 2008 on the condition he kept prosecutors in the loop as to his whereabouts.

Conditions of his bond were broken in late 2011 when authorities in Milford, Conn., allegedly found him in a motel room with a 14-year-old boy, who was acting in a low-budget horror film Kramer was involved in.
