Zaxby's warns Gwinnett customers of potential fraud

The Zaxby's restaurant chain is warning customers that computer software at several of its locations -- including several in the Gwinnett area -- may have compromised their personal information.

The fried chicken chain released information stating that "certain licensed locations have identified suspicious files on their systems that may have resulted in unauthorized access to credit and debit card information." Officials said that, while a forensic investigation has not yet determined if it happened or not, those malware files "could have been used to export guest names and credit and debit card numbers" at more than 100 stores across several states.

Several Gwinnett-area locations were included in the company's list of affected stores, including locations at: 4609 Friendship Road in Buford; 2620 Winder Highway in Dacula; 4850 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Norcross; and 100 Commons Drive in Braselton.

Many other metro Atlanta locations were included in the list, which also had franchises in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi and Virginia.

"Zaxby's Franchising, Inc. takes the security of guest information very seriously and is working closely with the affected store locations to provide notice to potentially affected guests," according to the company's statement. "Zaxby's Franchising, Inc. encourages all potentially affected guests to monitor their financial accounts for any unauthorized activity and to check their credit scores."

The corresponding law enforcement agencies have been notified, the statement said.

That ends that place to eat for a while. Who can you trust anymore? Better to pay cash. That way, both the restaurant and the waiter can avoid income taxes. Ha!!

Welcome to Obama's America, where buying lunch will get your identity stolen and you won't even be allowed to have the gun you need to get your identity back!

Who in their right mind would use a gun for that purpose anyway? Oh...wait a minute...haha

My debit card was used for almost $1,000 in fraudulent charges in Mexico about 9 months ago. I always suspected that the card number was compromised at Zaxby's because it was the only place it was used in the few days leading up to the fraudulent charges. I guess this kind of validates that suspicion.
