LAWRENCEVILLE -- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"

To celebrate the late Dr. King, The United Ebony Society presents its 13th annual parade on Jan. 21 with the theme "Character and Service" in honor of that quote.

The parade starts at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville at 10:30 a.m., with a brief program held at the courthouse's gazebo at 10 a.m.

This year, the parade is extended to Moore Middle School at 1221 Lawrenceville Highway at the intersection of Johnson Road.

Parking and transportation service is limited at the event. Transportation service will be provided from 9 to 10 a.m. from Central Gwinnett High School and Moore Middle School to the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. Return service runs from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Onlookers are encouraged to make signs and banners representing their organizations and groups to line the streets.
