Man shot during carjacking

STONE MOUNTAIN -- A man was shot during an early morning carjacking Saturday in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter in Stone Mountain.

Police are searching for two black male suspects who held up two victims during the attack, at about 2:45 a.m.

According to police, the men stopped a 20-year-old as he was making his way into the Rockbridge Road store, demanding his keys, wallet and cellphone at gunpoint.

In the meantime, another victim, a 35-year-old man was also on the way to the store. When the suspects stopped him, he did not understand the demands and proceeded toward the store, said Sgt. Randy Work with Gwinnett County Police. Then, he was shot in the back of the leg by one of the suspects.

Both victims ran into the store, Work said, and the suspects left the scene in the first victim's car, a blue 2010 Honda Fit with a Georgia tag PFE8356.

After reviewing security footage, police found that the assailants arrived in a red Honda Civic, which had been taken in a carjacking the previous night in Atlanta, Work added. The vehicle has been impounded and held for processing.

The victim was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries,

Anyone with information on the crime or the suspects -- who are believed to be armed with a semi-automatic handgun, possibly a .40-cal. Glock -- is asked to call Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5700.

That's right Gundoctor1. As a fellow responsible gun owner, like you and kennethstepp, I constantly fantasize about the opportunity to use my gun to kill someone.

Certainly the "two black male suspects" obtained their firearm in a legal manner. And certainly they will abided by whatever new gun control laws this administration dictates. Yeah, this partisan knee-jerk reaction will all of a sudden cause these misguided urban youth to all of a a sudden see the Obama light and get on the path to redemption.

Make no mistake. The liberal agenda is an incremental assault on your 2nd Amendment rights. First it will be rifles whose styling mimics fully automatic military grade rifles. Next will be handguns with high cap magazines. Then handguns with a quickly changed magazine. Then all handguns. Needless to say, the criminal element fully supports this agenda as they will not be giving up their guns [ or their freedom due to liberal judges ].

Heck I wouldn't go to THAT Walmart at 2:45am no matter what I was carrying. I don't feel comfortable there during the day.

I'd go to that Walmart at 2:45 a.m.....with my gun...and I'd make sure that I kept a hair-trigger temperment and an itchy trigger finger while walking through that or almost any other Metro Atlanta Walmart parking lot, day or night.

I just can't believe the insanity. With all the social programs that our government has made available, you would think these 2 men would try to better themselves and not steal from others. Maybe the government should raise taxes and provide more social programs for men like these 2. And with all the laws about guns that are in city, county, state and federal law books, that there would be no way that these 2 men would be able to obtain a gun. Maybe the government should raise our taxes so people like these 2 men can be trained on the evils of guns. More taxes can fix anything. Politicians said so and I believe them. Maybe Obama can change the term limits so he can get a 3rd term and fix these types of issues.

I'm just thinking that nowadays we are not safe at all whenever we go. First thing, lots of criminal minds are roaming around, second you might just be the victim anytime and worst you might be wounded or die. In that case above, the Walmart should have secure proper CCTV's within the vicinity. The victim is considered costumer so that could be there responsibilities. Plus, where was the police then? Aren't they call for them? Sigh, carjacking incidents are just rising tremendously.
