Gwinnett Online Campus is offering informational meetings for students and parents over the next several weeks.
NORCROSS -- Gwinnett County Online Campus is holding a series of informational sessions over the next several weeks for students in grades 4-12 who are interested in attending the institution for the 2013-14 school year.
The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 24 at Collins Hill High's theater, followed by a meeting Jan. 31 at Mountain View High Theater and Feb. 7 at Gwinnett Online Campus Building F.
"We're going to talk about our instructional programs," said Principal Christopher Ray. "Parents and students can find out what courses we offer and whether it's a good fit for the family. It's a great time for them to get any questions they may have answered."
All of the meetings will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Registration for the 2013-14 year runs from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28.
Beginning in the 2013-14 year, Gwinnett County Online Campus will expand services to students in the fourth and fifth grades. Parents interested in enrolling can attend one of the meetings.
Gwinnett County Online Campus students learn the same curriculum and participate in the same assessments as students enrolled in traditional Gwinnett schools.
The difference is how they learn as they have flexibility to do work from home on their own time with direct support from teachers and administrators and visits to the campus.
To date, four board-approved charter schools operate within Gwinnett County Public Schools, offering students and families a variety of options in addition to traditional schools.
