Phoenix High School celebrates 25 years

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Former staff and leaders from Phoenix High School are looking to celebrate the facility's 25th anniversary, but they need the help of former teachers, staff and students.

Those who have attended the school at any point over the last 25 years are invited to attend the Phoenix High School 25 Year Celebration, scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at 501 W. Pike St., Lawrenceville.

"We've had lots of success over the last 25 years, and we need the help of students and staff to help us celebrate," said former employee Peggy Britt.

Refreshments will be served, and former and current administrators will speak during the event.

Kroger aims to keep Atlanta warm

ATLANTA -- Trough Jan. 19, Kroger customers and associates are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats to any Kroger location throughout metro Atlanta.

"Temperatures are dropping quickly, and our coldest months are still ahead," said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger's Atlanta Division. "We hope that with the help of our customers and associates, we can give coats and blankets to those in need and keep Atlanta warm this winter."

To participate, Kroger shoppers can place their donations in the Project Overcoat bins located at the front of each store. All donations raised through the 2013 Project Overcoat campaign will be distributed to the United Way and Atlanta Mission.

For more than 22 years, Project Overcoat has worked to provide thousands of men, women and children with jackets and blankets. To donate, visit www.kroger.com to find the nearest Kroger store.
