LILBURN -- Central Gwinnett improved to 8-9 overall and 2-6 in Region 8-AAAAAA with a 63-59 win over Berkmar on Tuesday night.
Shaun Jones led Central in scoring with 17 points, while Brian Egejuru followed with 15 points. Neal Hodges also helped with 10 points.
Berkmar (8-7, 5-3) received 17 points from Tim Rowe, 12 points from Malcolm Hannah and 10 points from C.J. Foster.
Dacula 55, South 52
SNELLVILLE -- Dacula improved to 10-5 overall and 4-4 in Region 8-AAAAAA as the Falcons held off South Gwinnett for a 55-52 win.
Zentavious Cobb, who finished with nine points and eight rebounds for Dacula, secured the game by grabbing an offensive rebound with 4.4 seconds left, followed by successfully converting two free throws.
Jaylen Williams led the Falcons with 19 points, while Kevon Tucker added 14 points and eight boards.
Grayson 57, Parkview 51
LILBURN -- Damian Young scored 20 points on Tuesday night to lead Grayson over Parkview 57-51 in Region 8-AAAAAA.
Pierre Mason added 12 points for the Rams, who improved to 8-7 overall and 3-5 in the region.
Duluth 67, Habersham 41
MOUNT AIRY -- Ify Imachukwu led Duluth with 19 points on Tuesday night as the Wildcats scored a Region 7-AAAAAA win over Habersham Central 67-41.
Shamus Goss added 18 points for Duluth (11-6, 3-5), while Bryce Wooten chipped in with 10 points.
Peachtree Ridge 86, Meadowcreek 77
NORCROSS -- Peachtree Ridge held on to top Meadowcreek 86-77 on Tuesday night in a Region 7-AAAAAA battle.
Meadowcreek (5-10, 3-5) had four players score in double figures, led by 19 from A,J. Hicks. Don Smith scored 15, Jonathan Jones scored 14 and Terrance Snelling finished with 10.
Lanier 52, Stephens Co. 51 OT
SUGAR HILL -- Lanier opened its Region 8-AAAA schedule with a 52-51 win in overtime over Stephens County.
Jordan Harper of Lanier hit a 3-pointer with 10 seconds left in overtime to put Lanier (9-7, 1-0) up by one point. Stephens County had a chance for the win with 1.3 seconds left when Lanier was called for a foul, but both free throws were missed.
Lanier also received 11 points from Simon Shafack.
GAC 86, Hapeville Charter 41
ATLANTA -- Greater Atlanta Christian received 23 points from Isaiah Wilkins as the Spartans ran past Hapeville Charter 86-41 in game played at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy.
Cam Boyd added 16 points, while Troy Morrison chipped in with 12. GAC improved to 13-3 overall and 1-0 in Region 6-A.
Hebron 54, Prince Ave. 24
BOGART -- Ryan Thomas scored 17 points on Tuesday night to lead Hebron to a 54-24 romp over Prince Avenue.
Cory Johnson added 13 points as Hebron improved to 5-10 overall and 2-2 in Region 8-A.
Athens Christian 76, Providence 62
ATHENS -- Despite getting four players to score in double figures, Providence couldn't muster enough offense as the Storm fell 76-62 to Athens Christian on Tuesday night.
The four in double digits for Providence (4-10, 2-2) were Steven Kleinschmidt with 17 points, Charlie Scott with 13 and Bobby Rodgers and Robbie Clark with 12 each.
Parkview 58, Grayson 23
LILBURN -- Parkview ran its unbeaten streak to 16-0 overall and 8-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA on Tuesday night with a 58-23 win over Grayson (3-10, 1-7).
The top scorer for the Panthers was Marissa Mandeldove with 16 points, while Genesis Perrymond followed with 10 points.
Central 66, Berkmar 56
LILBURN -- Central Gwinnett topped Berkmar 66-56 on Tuesday night for a Region 8-AAAAAA win.
Central (11-5, 5-3) was led by 20 points and four assists from Alexandra Frazier, while Briana McGee added 14 points and five assists. Carol Reynolds also helped with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Berkmar (7-8, 4-4) received a game-high 23 points from Daijah Cooke. Cooke also finished with six rebounds and five steals.
South 60, Dacula 40
SNELLVILLE -- South Gwinnett had three players hit for double digits in points on Tuesday night as the Comets defeated Dacula 60-40 in Region 8-AAAAAA action.
Jashawna Johnson was the top scorer for South with 15 points. South (9-7, 5-3) also received 13 points from Colette Onenda and 12 points from Kierra Clayton.
Faustine Aifuwa of Dacula (5-10, 3-5) led the Falcons with 14 points while adding 10 rebounds and seven blocks. J'Nai Owens also scored seven for Dacula, while Star Toomey had four points to go along with 10 rebounds.
Peachtree Ridge 47, Meadowcreek 29
NORCROSS -- Melissa Turvy of Peachtree Ridge led all players with 13 points on Tuesday night as the Lions defeated Meadowcreek 47-29 in a Region 7-AAAAAA game.
The win improved the Lions, who also received 10 points from Megan Henderson, to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in the region. Meadowcreek (3-12, 0-8) was led by 13 points, six rebounds and five steals from Angel Alexander.
Duluth 61, Habersham 53 OT
MOUNT AIRY -- Duluth rallied to defeat Habersham Central 61-53 in overtime on Tuesday night in Region 7-AAAAAA action. Duluth (10-6, 5-3) rallied in the fourth quarter and outscored the Raiders 18-11 in the period to force overtime.
Duluth had four players score in double figures, led by 21 points from Katie Powell. Aliyah McGriff followed with 14 points, while Taylor Auzenne scored 11 and Joi Jones chipped in with 10.
Stephens Co. 36, Lanier 32
SUGAR HILL -- Lanier dropped its Region 8-AAAA opener on Tuesday night, falling to Stephens County 36-32. The two teams were tied with two minutes left when Stephens County pulled away for the win.
Lanier (4-11, 0-1) was led by nine points each from Tamar Osborne and Amber Cesair.
Buford 71, Dawson Co. 57
DAWSONVILLE -- Kaela Davis of Buford poured in 43 points on Tuesday night as the Wolves downed host Dawson County 71-57 in Region 7-AAA.
Mackenzie Darrah added 14 for Buford as the Wolves improved to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in the region.
Providence 31, Athens Christian 26
ATHENS -- Aubrey Gold of Providence logged 17 points on Tuesday night as the Storm held off Athens Christian 31-26.
The win boosted Providence to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in Region 8-A.
Prince Ave. 34, Hebron 31
BOGART -- Amber Skidgel of Hebron scored 21 points on Tuesday night, but it wasn't enough as the Lions fell just shy against Prince Avenue 34-31.
Ashleigh Stanley added eight points for Hebron (6-9, 2-2) but the rest of the team contributed just two points.
