Special Photo The city of Duluth is holding a photo contest. All entries include Shiner, the canine mayor of Chattapoochee Dog Park.
DULUTH -- To get people excited about Duluth's State of the City Address, Mayor Nancy Harris and Mayor Shiner of Duluth's Chattapoochee Dog Park have teamed up to create a "Flat Shiner" photo contest.
The contest is open to Duluth businesses, schools, parks and civic organizations. Winners from four separate categories (who knew?, dog and pet friendly, local supporter and most creative photo) will win two tickets to the city address on Jan. 22. The tickets are $25 per person.
To enter, participants must print off the "Flat Shiner" photo and take his picture with you in a way that highlights the purpose of an organization. Entries should be emailed to awilliams@duluthga.net by Jan. 14. With the submission, people need to include the name of the business or organization in the photo, your name and relationship to the group, purpose of the business or organization, how many years it's been in Duluth, the name of everyone in the photograph and a 50-word (or less) summary of what makes you unique, dog friendly or a local supporter.
To print Shiner's image, visit www.duluthga.net.
