SNELLVILLE — To provide a health care baseline for the new year, Eastside Medical Center will offer an event to check blood sugar and cholesterol levels, among other risk factors.
The event, a partnership between Eastside and the “H2U-Health To You” program, is scheduled for 8 to 10 a.m. on Jan. 17. A total lipid profile will be offered for $17.80, while a fasting blood sugar at $3.80 and cholesterol for $5 are also available.
Attendees must fast from 8 p.m. the previous evening, with no more than a sip of water to take required medication, said spokeswoman Pattie Page.
Also offered at the event are free stroke assessments and free blood pressure checks.
Participants must register by calling Medline at 1-800-242-5662, and provide your physician’s name and address. Your Social Security number will be required for identification prior to the screenings. Attendees must be at least 18 years old, and walk-ins will be taken as time permits.
