SNELLVILLE -- Volunteers will hold a work day on Saturday at the Snellville Community Garden.
Leaders Kurt and Gretchen Schulz said they plan to build about 20 raised beds and paint a tool shed. Gretchen Schulz said the event is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and attendees should bring their favorite paint brush. Tools to build the raised beds will be provided.
The community garden -- the third in Gwinnett -- is planned at the intersection of Marigold Road and Sawyer Parkway in Briscoe Park, across the street from the Snellville Recycling Center.
Gretchen Schulz encouraged people to attend after she said a recent work session was rewarding when 17 people showed up. "It didn't even feel like work," she said. "We got so much accomplished, it was fun."
A grand opening for the garden is expected in early April.
