A radio DJ was arrested last week on charges of altering prescriptions for pain pills.
Suzanne Hannah Smith, 30, was a daytime personality on WJGA 92.1 FM in Jackson. According to sheriff’s office and court records, she was arrested Feb. 19 on five counts of fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs.
Radio station owner Don Earnhart said Smith was permanently replaced by Tom Lynde following her arrest.
Earnhart said Smith worked at WJGA for about five years.
Butts County authorities, in an incident report, say Smith is suspected of altering five prescriptions for hydrocodone over a period from December 2012 to Feb. 8. The report says four of the prescriptions appeared to be altered to increase the size of the pill prescribed, while the fifth appeared to be altered to increase the number of pills prescribed.
A jail official said Smith was still being held in the Butts County Jail Monday afternoon on $5,000 bond.
It was not clear whether she is being represented by an attorney.
