SNELLVILLE -- A Snellville resident is the featured artist in this month's Art on the Wall at City Hall program.
Sally Arnold was selected for the honor by the city's mayor Kelly Kautz and a group of art jurors. Her original works of art can be viewed in the community room at City Hall during normal business hours during February and March.
Arnold, who has lived in Snellville with her husband Terry for more than 40 years, is a member of the Southeastern Pastel Society, Blue Ridge Art Association and the juried artist group Southern Colours.
"After painting mainly in pastels, she became fascinated with encaustics, hot pigmented wax painted on board and fused in layers with a torch," a press release from the city said. "Her encaustic paintings have depth and luminosity that is unique and beautiful."
Arnold's pastel and encaustic paintings are on display, and the public is invited to meet her at a reception from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
