Five locals headed to ODP soccer nationals

Five Gwinnett soccer players will represent Georgia and Region III at the upcoming U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Championships, slated for Friday through March 3 at The Complex at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Three Greater Atlanta Christian girls players — Heather Ferrari, Brynn Finneran and Halle Huff — are on the Region III ODP Team that won regionals to earn the trip to nationals, as is Duluth player Hannah Huizenga. Lilburn resident Lauren McKeever, a sophomore at St. Pius, also is on the squad.

The Region III team is part of a 1996 Girls Final Four that also includes Region I (New Jersey), Region II (Indiana) and Region IV (California).
