SUWANEE -- The hard work of two local artists will be on display beginning March 2 at the George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center.
According to a news release from Gwinnett County Parks, June Gotthardt's landscape scenery of the North Carolina Mountains "will leave you with a longing for Appalachia," while Karen Devine's pieces "embody a child-like wonder."
The exhibit will be up from March 2 through May 31, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is free.
Another exhibit, "Art Through the Lens" offers the public a chance to win for photographic skills.
Those interested can contact the recreation center at 678-277-0910. Staff will be taking submissions for the contest in the categories of pets, landscapes or still lifes through March 1. Each person can enter up to three submissions.
The submissions will be on display through April 20.
The George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center is located at 55 Buford Highway, Suwanee.
