ALBANY — A customer was threatened with a knife as she waited to buy lunch on Thursday at a local fast food restaurant, according to Albany Police.
Shawanda Warren said she was waiting in the drive-through line at Checkers restaurant at 110 S. Slappey Blvd. when she was approached by someone with a knife. According to the statement, the suspect demanded a dollar. When Walker refused, police said the suspect pulled out the knife and swung it at Walker.
According to the report, officers with the Albany Police Department responded at 1:24 p.m. and the suspect was taken into custody a short distance from the scene. Shanell Lacole Malone was charged with aggravated assault and transported to the Dougherty County Jail.
