WAYCROSS — A food processing company plans to invest $11 million to expand its snack-making plant in Waycross.
Executives of Rich Products Corporation say the expansion will increase the southeast Georgia plant's manufacturing capacity by 30 percent. The company says it also expects to add 55 new jobs — increasing its total employment from 70 positions to 125.
The Waycross plant mostly produces snacks and appetizers wrapped in dough, such as mozzarella bits and mini stuffed-pizza slices for the company's food-service division and its Farm Rich consumer brand.
The expansion announcement comes just a few months after Rich marked the 10th anniversary of the opening of its Waycross plant. The company hopes to have the expansion completed and in operation this fall.
