Gwinnett Daily Post
By now, you have probably seen at least one Harlem Shake YouTube video on your Facebook timeline or on other social media sites.
Like them or not, the videos have swept the Internet — and even in Gwinnett County.
It involves a short video featuring one person dancing to the start of the song, recorded by DJ and producer Baauer. When the beat picks up, the video cuts to the same scene with everyone joining in — sometimes with the dancers wearing costumes.
The University of Georgia men's swim and dive team has one of the most popular Harlem Shake videos on YouTube with more than 20 million views. Their dance is all produced under water. The team features several Gwinnett products, including GAC's Will Freeman, Peachtree Ridge's Luke Upchurch and John Simmons, Brookwood's Conor Sweeney and Aidan Sweeney and Wesleyan's Bobby Chambless and Nick Salyers.
Other videos include the Gwinnett Braves, Norcross basketball team, Dacula soccer team and the Meadowcreek High School theater department, Providence Christian Academy, Mill Creek High School and Parkview High School. I don't know what any of that was supposed to be, but I don't like it. What happened to decent dances like the Lindy Hop? These videos are an abomination and I would hate to think that my school or team was being represented in this way. The students who participated in these gross displays should be expelled.

Quit being a damn prude. If you cannot see the comedic humor in these videos, not to mention the comradery that they can help foster by having the groups come together to work on something outside together outside of their normal tasks, than you are too narrow minded. Lighten up and get over it, that or just don't watch. Last I checked nobody was forcing you to.

I am the one dancing around the life size poster of my self and I come to school every day. Should I be expelled. At I am grateful that I can do the jumping up and down as I have no rhythm. I was never able to do the Charleston, the jitterbug or even use a hula hoop. I can do this because it is not a dance as such but just having fun At 81 it is a joy and fun just to be with kids everyday or they would not have asked me to be silly and have.fun.One guy mentioned comedic. Did that mean there were two medics and that made them comedic
