Gladiators trade for goalie from Las Vegas

The Gwinnett Gladiators acquired goaltender Jody O'Neill from the Las Vegas Wranglers in exchange for future considerations Wednesday.

O'Neill has a 0.87 goals-against average and a .974 save percentage in three games with Las Vegas this year. He is 2-0-0-0 with one shutout.

The Nepean, Ontario native played four years at Dartmouth College from 2008-2012. He had a career year in his senior season with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage in 13 games. In 69 career collegiate games with Dartmouth, O'Neill earned a 2.98 goals against average and a .914 save percentage.

The Gladiators also got rookie defenseman Sacha Guimond back on Wednesday. Guimond was on call-up with Norfolk of the AHL and played three games.

The Ville-Maire, PQ native has registered 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 10 games with the Gladiators. Guimond is ranked second among ECHL defensemen with 35 points (eight goal, 27 assists) on the season.

Guimond was acquired by the Gladiators from the San Francisco Bulls in a trade along with Justin Bowers in exchange for Cody Carlson, Christian Ouellet and Rylan Galiardi.

Both players should be available for the Gladiators 7:05 p.m. start today in Orlando.
