SNELLVILLE -- Patrick Ford, 17, of Snellville will be honored at a special Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony on March 17, 2013. The young man built a compost bin, work benches and a work table for the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministries in Grayson.
He went before the Eagle Board of Review on Oct. 27, and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.
To earn Scouting's highest honor, Ford earned 37 merit badges, including the 21 Eagle required badges, served as a leader in his troop and completed his major community service project at the co-op
He has been a member of Troop 508 in Lilburn for one year and has served in various leadership positions. Ford is a member of First Baptist Church of Snellville.
Rehearsal tonight for Lawrenceville Community Orchestra
LAWRENCEVILLE -- A rehearsal for the Lawrenceville Community Orchestra is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church, 250 Gwinnett Drive, Lawrenceville.
Membership is open to any and all musicians in the area. The inaugural concert will be at 7 p.m. April 4, at the Central Gwinnett theater.

Girl Scout cookies available at Sugarloaf Mills
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta will offer Sugarloaf Mills shoppers the opportunity to purchase Girl Scout Cookies at booths set up during February and March inside Entry 2 near Last Call by Neiman Marcus.
Booths will be set up now through March 3 at the following times: 4 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Atlanta Braves looking for bands
ATLANTA -- The Braves are looking for up-and-coming bands to entertain thousands of fans at Turner Field prior to select home games throughout the 2013 season. All musical genres of original and cover bands should submit information for review at www.braves.com/bravesbands.com.
Bands selected will receive free game tickets, discounted admission codes for their fans to see them at the game and a chance to be crowned "Braves Band of the Year."
Vaccination clinic planned
SUWANEE -- A vaccination clinic is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 1175 Buford Highway, Suite 109, Suwanee.
Canine and feline rabies shots are $10; canine and feline distemper shots, $10; canine bordetella shots, $10; canine heartworm test, $25; microchip, $25; and combo test, $25.
Please have all dogs on leashes and all cats in carriers. If your animal has an allergic reaction to vaccinations, it is recommended that you see your regular veterinarian.
All proceeds from the clinic go to help save the lives of homeless animals in Georgia.
