LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mardi Gras may have fallen on Feb. 12 this year, but that hasn't stopped the Friends of the Gwinnett County Public Library from planning a celebration later in the month.
On Saturday, the group is hosting a Mardi Gras party with special guest Evelyn Coleman leading the festivities.
The "American Girl Doll" author visits Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church with her mystery series "The Cameo Necklace" in tow.
Guests are encouraged to bring their American Dolls to the event, which includes drinks and pastries, a book discussion with Coleman, an autographed copy of the "American Girl Doll" series book, crafts and treats.
Tickets are $19, which is admission for one adult and one child. Additional guests are $12 each. The money raised from the event benefits the GCPL system.
Seating is limited, but there are two different times to attend: 1 or 3 p.m. When purchasing your tickets, the GCPL asked that you indicate which time you would like to attend.
For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.friendsgcpl.org or email contact@friendsgcpl.org.
Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church is located at 800 Lawrenceville Highway in Lawrenceville.
