Richard O. Bottomley passed away at Peachtree Christian Hospice(Duluth, GA) on Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born November 20, 1925 in Braddock, PA where he graduated high school. He was a Navy veteran and had the privilege to serve as a radar tech on the submarine The Sea Robin which was the first sub to sail around Cape Horn of South America. This gained recognition in the 1948 edition of The National Geographic Magazine. Upon returning from the Navy he became employed with the Westinghouse Corp. at the airbrake division in Pittsburgh, PA. He then married and graduated from Carnegie Tech. University with an electrical engineering degree. His career took him to California where he worked in the aerospace industry designing ground equipment. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Margaret Kysel Bottomley; children, Joy (Don) Delmage, and Bruce Bottomley; step-son John and his children Jonathon and Justin; sister Joanne (William) Hadbavney and family; grandchildren Greg, Sherie and Aime Delmage.
