Open since: Nov. 14, 2012

Owner: Shawn Brown

Location: CheeseCaked is located across from Lawrenceville's Train Depot and over the tracks from 550 Trackside.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, closed Sundays and Mondays

Atmosphere: CheeseCaked is located inside of an older building in Lawrenceville. From the outside, you're not really sure what could be inside. When you enter the aged double doors, the bakery is bright and colorful with orange, purple and pink spots on the walls.

Owner Shawn Brown is always sitting at the front counter, ready to greet new and returning guests. She will give you a cupcake tour, if you'd like.

"The problem is that I keep making new flavors and I can't keep up with them for the website," she said.

In the glass display case, there are several flavors for purchase that rotate often, so don't get too attached to one specific sweet.

Brown plans to convert some of the back area of the space into a kids' baking party area.

"I will let them make some stuff, decorate them and box them up to take them home," she said.

She is also putting together bridal packages to offer for a bride's big day.

There are also sugar-free and vegan products, full cheesecakes, cheesecake-pops and mini cupcakes upon request.

Menu: The entire menu consists of cheesecakes made in cupcake form.

"I've always been a cheesecake eater, but when Crumbs (a cupcake bakery) made it to the New York stock exchange, I said, 'OK, hold on. If a cupcake can make it to the stock exchange, I need to figure this out,'" Brown said.

Years later after perfecting the bite-sized cheesecakes, she was selling her product to stores, which sold her cakes. This eventually led to her opening CheeseCaked.

"People always tell me that I should be located in Buckhead, although I don't really know what that means," Brown said with a laugh.

The most popular cake is the Oh My Goodness, which is a cheesecake topped with brownies, caramel, pecans and whipped cream.

Another popular treat is Brown's My Little Pumpkin, a pumpkin cheesecake. She made it in honor of her late son.

In February 1994, she and her 10-week-old son Jakori were hit by a drunk driver who sped through a train crossing. Her son died on the scene; Brown was pronounced dead twice. After much healing and time, Brown is a MADD volunteer speaker, who gives a portion of the pumpkin cheesecake sales back to the nonprofit.
