PREP ROUNDUP: Doubles duo leads Hawks to narrow win

JOHNS CREEK -- Mill Creek defeated Johns Creek 3-2 Thursday night on the back of two doubles wins.

The doubles teams of Allison Weaver and Natalie Martin along with Madison Walsh and Emily Huspeld carried Mill Creek (2-0) to victory with their wins. Madison Hahn was victorious at the No. 1 singles for the Hawks.

Collins Hill 5, Grayson 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill improved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-0 win over Grayson on Thursday night. Drew Banta, Lexi Owensby and Amanda Gautreaux were singles winners. Jamie Lunceford and Lindsay Doktor along with Prachi Patel and Rocqsanna Malek were doubles winners for the Eagles.

Buford 5, West Hall 0

OAKWOOD -- Buford improved to 3-1 on the season with a 5-0 whitewash of West Hall Thursday night. Annalea Stevens, Mariajose Ferreyros and Kristin Bradshaw posted victories in singles. The doubles partners of Savannah Whaley and Abbey Mitchell along with Jessica Thompson and Rebecca Hendrix were winners for Buford.

Peachtree Ridge 4, Brookwood 1

DULUTH -- The Peachtree Ridge girls opened their season with a 4-1 victory over visiting Brookwood on Thursday night. Singles winners for the Lions were Abby Owens, Jena Kelly and Laura Kelly. Ali Mills and Sreeja Choppara were victorious at No. 1 doubles for Peachtree Ridge.

Collins Hill 5, Grayson 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill improved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-0 win over Grayson on Thursday night. Winning singles matches for the Eagles were Ian Melnik, Evan Padvorak and Aalok Patel. Jake Inderrieden and Marcus Maloney, and Peyton Rushing and Lorenzo Manacop won in doubles.

Brookwood 5, Peachtree Ridge 0

DULUTH -- Brookwood opened its season with a 5-0 win over Peachtree Ridge on Thursday night.

Drew Wendel, Zach Jennings and Matt Jones were singles winners. Christian Gochnauer and Ryan Pridgon along with the tandem of Daniel Drake and Anthony Porcelli won doubles matches.

Buford 4, West Hall 1

OAKWOOD -- Buford improved to 4-0 on the season with a 4-1 win over West Hall on Thursday night. Leading the Wolves were Colby West and Nicholas Becker at Nos. 1 and 3 singles, respectively.

Buford swept the doubles with Rob Hunter and Alex Turner and David Petroni and Josh Thompson posting victories.

Holy Innocents' 3, Providence 1

LILBURN -- Providence scored early, but Holy Innocents' rallied with three unanswered goals to defeat the Storm 3-1 on Thursday night.

Katharine Slayton scored on a penalty kick for Providence Christian (1-1) to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. However, the visiting Golden Bears (1-0) found the net three times after that to secure the victory.

Grayson 10, Loganville 1

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson opened its season with a 10-1 victory over host Loganville on Thursday night.

Amanda Baker, Tessa Craft and Ella Stevens each scored twice for the Rams (1-0). Bobbi Ayers, Brittney Bennett, Chelsea Norton and Allison Pickett each scored goals for the Rams.

Dacula 3, Lanier 0

SUGAR HILL -- Dacula blanked Lanier 3-0 to open its season Thursday night. Valeria Bermeo, Makaila Clack and Jazmyne Lane each scored for the Falcons (1-0). Madison Glunn recorded the shutout in net for Dacula.

Norcross 4, Archer 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Norcross got a hat trick from Katelyne Carpenter and went on to defeat Archer 4-1 in its season opener Thursday night. Jordan Lewter added a goal for the Blue Devils (1-0).

Meadowcreek 3, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE -- Meadowcreek defeated Shiloh 3-0 to win its season opener Thursday night. An own goal by the Generals gave the Mustangs (1-0) an early lead. Kim DeAnda and Rachel Hill added goals to secure the victory. Goalie Sandy Prado recorded the shutout for Meadowcreek, which peppered the Shiloh goal with 27 shots on net.

Meadowcreek 10, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE -- Meadowcreek improved to 1-1 on the season with a 10-0 win over Shiloh on Thursday night. Christopher Morgan led the Mustangs with four goals, while Barrell Walters and Juan Amador scored two apiece.

Dacula 3, Lanier 2

SUGAR HILL -- Dacula opened its season with a 3-2 win over Lanier on Thursday night. Javion Joseph led the Falcons (1-0) with two goals. Joe Efford had a goal and two assists and Christian Santos added and an assist for Dacula.

Grayson 3, Loganville 1

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson defeated Loganville 3-1 in its season opener Thursday night. The Rams (1-0) were paced by two goals from Arijan Jaganjac and one from Mitchell Parker.
