The high school basketball postseason might just be getting started, but three Gwinnett County girls players have already earned a major postseason honor by being named to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-American this spring.
Norcross' Diamond DeShields, North Gwinnett's Lexie Brown and former Buford guard Kaela Davis were among 24 players selected to play in the 2013 edition of the national all-star game scheduled for April 3 at United Center in Chicago.
All three players are listed among the top 15 players in the ESPNw/HoopsGurlz national rankings, with Davis at No. 2, DeShields at No. 3 and Brown at No. 15.
DeShields, the two-time defending Daily Post Girls Player of the Year, and Brown are currently playing for their respective teams in the Region 7-AAAAAA tournament, while Davis is no longer with the Buford team and will sit out the rest of the high school season.
