SUWANEE -- A two-car accident north of Suwanee on Tuesday afternoon caused traffic delays along Interstate 85 that stretched for miles.
Suwanee Police Capt. Clyde Byers said a preliminary investigation appears that a southbound vehicle may have been side-swiped and crossed a median into northbound traffic. The car then collided with a northbound vehicle, and the collision caused both vehicles to overturn.
"Luckily there were no fatalities, but the exact extent of the injuries is unknown," Byers said.
The incident, which was just south of I-985, happened a few minutes after 3 p.m., and Suwanee Police blocked all northbound traffic on 85 at Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Delays because of the wreck were seen back to Sugarloaf Parkway.
