SUWANEE — After losing on a last second 3 the last time Collins Hill host Meadowcreek, the Eagles made the margin in the final minutes to large this time around.
The Eagles outscored Meadowcreek 22-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 50-39 win in the Region 7-AAAAAA play-in game in the girls tournament. Collins Hill advances to play Norcross on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Duluth.
Brittany Stowers led the fourth-quarter burst scoring eight of her 10 points in the final eight minutes and grabbing most of her 12 rebounds. Stowers scored all her points in the second half. The Eagles (7-19) also got a double-double from Julianne Bayer who scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Nykeria Smith added eight points and seven rounds and Madison McAaffe scored seven and grabbed six rebounds.
For Meadowcreek, Ashley Okoku scored 13 points and Angel Alexander added 11.
