BUFORD -- John Lehmberg called it a novel concept, but one he hopes further separates his business from others.
Lehmberg, a Lawrenceville resident who is active in the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and the Suwanee Business Alliance, had a ribbon-cutting last week for a new storefront office space for his 9-year-old Web design business, Make it Loud. The office is at 2828 Buford Drive near Interstate 85 and BrandSmart USA in Buford.
"There are no website companies with a storefront," Lehmberg said. "We want clients to feel like if they have an issue, that they can come in and talk with us face-to-face. Many who are interested in Web work do not know where to go to find a credible Web development company, and searching Google does not necessarily help."
The growing company recently added two employees to give it nine overall; it previously was housed in Lehmberg's home. The company, which counts hundreds of clients, works on search engine optimization, Web design, print, branding and social media projects for small and medium-sized businesses.
Lehmberg attributed the company's growth to a competitive economy where businesses need a website that can set it apart from the competition.
The new office location also has about 1,000 square feet of meeting space that Lehmberg said he may rent to a church or other organization.
Lehmberg is also a youth pastor at Prospect Church in Lawrenceville. He graduated from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa., with degrees in youth ministry and history. He also took computer science classes at the University of Maryland.
