Local businesses named to prestigious list

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Twelve local companies were recently included in the UGA Alumni Association's 2013 Bulldog 100, which recognizes the 100 fastest-growing businesses nationwide that are either owned or operated by University of Georgia alumni.

"With more than 700 nominations for the 2013 Bulldog 100, businesses included on the list have proven to be highly competitive, successful companies," said Stan Jackson, director of communications for the UGA Alumni Association.

"We are pleased to congratulate the Gwinnett companies and UGA alumni recognized with this honor and look forward to seeing their continued growth in the future."

-- Direct Technologies Inc. (No. 98)COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- World Trade 100 magazine, a leading transportation industry publication, and SMC3, an industry trade association, have awarded Averitt and its customer, Tuesday Morning, with an Alliance Award in the Domestic Freight Multimodal category.

The Alliance awards program, which was instituted this year, recognizes alliances in high-performing supply chains that are driving results. Attention is focused on why and how the alliance was formed, the roles of the various partners, and the results attained by the close collaboration and cooperation represented by the alliance.

Plantation South Duluth is managed by Senior Management Advisors, which manages 11 communities in Florida and Georgia.

She has an extensive background in managing senior communities at the executive level, which makes her a valuable asset to our organization," said Steven Piazza, CEO of Senior Management Advisors.
