G-Braves give to Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett Braves have awarded their $1,000 grant for the month of January to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County provide programming targeted toward three areas: academic success, good character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles. While existing programs have helped numerous children from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances, the need for more facilities and services in Hall County is critical.

The grant money awarded by the Gwinnett Braves will allow the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County to purchase basic supplies like pencils and paper, as well as more program-specific resources like art supplies, books and computer programs. Grant funds will also be used to purchase games and activities for the Boys & Girls Clubs' game rooms, the central program space where character and citizenship education are demonstrated.

"Community support is essential and helps us to keep our youth safe, enriched and on a path to success. We are proud to have the support of organizations like the Gwinnett Braves," said Greg Katulka, president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County.
