DULUTH -- Are you an artist? Do you like beer?
The city of Duluth is looking for an artist to create two different posters for its inaugural Beerfest Duluth: Brews and Tunes event.
According to a release from the city, the first poster should focus on traditional marketing information and will be an advertisement with art included. The second entry should be a piece of art that contains event information.
Through dividing up the posters, city staff hopes to "provide both pertinent event information and to have a second poster that can act as an eye-catching work showing Duluth's commitment to the arts."
Original artwork, including paintings and drawings, will be accepted. Graphic work is preferred. Organizers ask those who enter to bear in mind that the work needs to be reproduced with ease for advertising purposes.
Submissions must meet the following guidelines:
-- All pieces must include the Duluth cityscape logo (or a variation on that theme for the art poster). The logo can be found here: www.duluthga.net.
-- All pieces must contain beer/brewing related imagery.
-- All pieces must contain music related imagery.
-- All pieces must contain the event name (BeerFest Duluth: Brews and Tunes) and the event web address (www.beerfest-duluth.com), and the date of the event (June 1). The marketing poster must also have the physical address of the Duluth Festival Center (same as the submission address below).
-- No piece may contain more than 4 colors (black and white do not have to count as colors).
-- Artists may enter multiple times; however, each piece must be original.
-- Each piece must have an attached application.
-- Pieces submitted for the marketing poster must include the original City of Duluth logo and the original Best of Brews logo, which can be found here http://thebestofbrews.com.
-- Pieces submitted for the marketing poster must leave a two-inch space at the bottom for sponsorship logos.
-- Pieces submitted for the marketing poster must leave space to insert the names of the three bands that will perform during the event.
-- Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Feb. 22. The City of Duluth will not be responsible for damage to items received by mail.
Submitted entries should be brought or mailed to: Duluth City Hall, 3167 Main St. Duluth, GA 30096, or by email to Brian Bentley, firstname.lastname@example.org.
