LILBURN -- Led by 20 points from Connor Jones, Providence's boys basketball team easily handled Towns County in a 61-39 win on Thursday.
But more than Jones it was a team win for the Storm (12-11, 10-3) who saw all but two players score with none putting up more than 10.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Hebron 54, Commerce 44
DACULA -- Led by 17 points from Cory Johnson, Hebron beat Commerce 54-44 in a make-up game from earlier this season.
Tyler Matthews and Tyler Skidgel each scored 12 for the Lions.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hebron 61, Commerce 43
DACULA -- Amber Skidgel racked up 28 points and Hannah Lentz scored 14 as the Hebron girls beat Commerce 61-43.
Jozie Lewis chippied in 11 for the Lions.
Towns Co. 43, Providence 41
LILBURN -- Audrey Gold turned in a big double-double, scoring 21 points and hauling in 12 rebounds, but her Storm came up just short, falling 43-41 to Towns County.
The loss drops Providence to 15-8 overall and 11-3 in region.-- From staff reports
