Parkview's junior varsity girls basketball team won the Region 8-AAAAAA JV tournament championship Monday night with a 36-30 finals victory over Archer.
The Panthers, who won the 8-AAAAA JV title last season, finished a 17-1 season. Kiersten Hunter was named tournament MVP and Khari Jernigan made the all-tournament team.
Other members of the championship team are Lauren Huston, Claire Allinson, Kristin Telford, Sydni Vinson, Dominique Leonidas, Emily Thompson and Maeva Banag. The Panthers' head coach is Aaron Schuck and his assistant is Sarah Akin.
