I disagree with Eugene Robinson's assertion ("Obama dead wrong on drone hits," 8A, Feb. 8) that the president is wrong to target American citizens who have leadership roles in terrorist groups that plot against the United States.
Whether U.S. citizen or not, those in the "command and control" structure of an organized enemy of the U.S. are legitimate targets.

Soooo...we should just throw out the Constitution and the protections it offers us as well, eh? The last two administrations have done too much to erode rights and grow government. We don't need to give them more power.

The last two administrations were Obama, then Bush. Bush only used phone line taps, not murder.

The Bush admin was responsible for the Patriot Act, which greatly eroded our Constitutional protections. I keep waiting for someone to bring up the Patriot Act before the Supreme Court, but given the current court's liberal leaning, it would probably be accepted as gospel. Also, Bush added a lot to our debt and grew the size of government as well. So I stand by my statement.

there is NO comparison to the growing amount of debt Obama has produced vs. Bush. This isn't even worth discussing.

what are our "bright" politicians going to do when our drones are captured and sent back to kill us? Since when has America become a nation of killers before a conviction in a court of law. Obama, you tired the criminals that are in this country before a jury, why not an American citizen in another country? Maybe those of us in this country will be the next target. And you Liberals sit there and wonder why we want guns? It's the wording in the 2nd amendment. read it sometimes Mr. Robinson.
