LAWRENCEVILLE -- Firefighters were able to stop an early-morning garage fire in Lawrenceville before it spread to the main house.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded to the fire on the 2800 block of Springtime Court just before 5 a.m. Thursday after a resident called to report flames coming from a vehicle and trailer in the garage. The approximately 1,200-square-foot, detached garage that housed the vehicle was heavily involved when crews arrived, Capt. Tommy Rutledge said.
The blaze was knocked down in a little over 10 minutes and did not damage the main house on the property, Rutledge said. A "high-top van" and pull-behind trailer in the garage were destroyed, and flames also "scorched the grass and a fence in a neighboring yard."
The exact cause of the fire remained undetermined and under investigation Thursday.
No injuries were reported.
