2 foot races hosted in Gwinnett this weekend

Lace up your shoes and pin on your number. On Saturday, there are two foot races in the county. Both races are raising money for causes in Gwinnett.

In Norcross, Pinckneyville Middle School is playing host for the Blue Devils Run, a 5K and one mile run benefiting the Norcross High School track and cross-country teams. The money raised pays for participation fees (that some athletes can't afford to pay), travel expenses and uniforms for the season.

There will be games for children and families in the gym during the races, plus a raffle that includes gift cards and items from local merchants.

Registration is $20 at www.active.com. Race begins at 8 a.m. at 5440 Jones Bridge Road in Norcross.

In Suwanee, couples can trot together in the Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint, which is an annual fundraiser for the Rotary Club. The club provides support to local organizations.

The Suwanee Sweetheart 5K Sprint is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Town Center in Suwanee. Race day registration and packet pickup will begin at 7:30 a.m. that day. Registration costs $25 or $40 if pairs sign up together. Registration is available at www.active.com and northgwinnettrotary.org. The race route is through Town Center and along the Suwanee Creek Greenway.
