Gwinnett will be well represented at the upcoming Atlanta Sports Awards, the annual Atlanta Sports Council event at the Fox Theatre. This year's ceremony is March 5.
Norcross' Alvin Kamara and Grayson's Robert Nkemdiche are two of the three finalists for High School Athlete of the Year, while Kamara's Norcross football program is a finalist for Team of the Year, joining the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs football in that category.
Norcross head football coach Keith Maloof is a Coach of the Year finalist alongside the Falcons' Mike Smith and UGA's Mark Richt.
One of the three finalists for Collegiate Athlete of the Year is former UGA gymnast Kat Ding, who has worked recently with the Gwinnett Sports Commission.
