Of the many traditions at Buford, one more went down Wednesday morning.
The Wolves held their annual early-morning, National Signing Day ceremony and turned out their typical crop of college-ready talent. Although their 2012 football team was a young one, they also had an exceptional group of seniors who were great leaders on last season's Class AAA state championship team.
This year's headliners were two players who paved the way for the Wolves' strong rushing attack last season — tight end Mikey Bart and offensive lineman Josh Cardiello. Bart is bound for North Carolina, while Cardiello continues a long line of Buford linemen going to Georgia.
Wide receiver Grant Hall also is ACC-bound, as a preferred walk-on at Duke. The state of North Carolina continued its dip into the Buford talent pool with defensive back Jaylen Mize (Davidson) and linebacker Bryson Jordan (Western Carolina) also heading to teams from that state.
Running back Dontravious Wilson signed with Central Florida and defensive back Shawn Reynolds signed with Eastern Kentucky.
