DULUTH -- Hundreds of people are expected to attend an interactive wellness expo on Saturday at the Gwinnett Center hosted by the Gwinnett Medical Center.
"Get Heart Smart" is in honor of National Heart Month, and will include a complimentary heart-healthy breakfast, free educational and fitness classes and discounted medical screenings, organizers said. The event, at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, will begin at 8 a.m.
A cooking contest, called "Fired Up for Heart Health," will take place between local fire, emergency services personnel and GMC employees.
A celebrity judge is Chef Michael Ganley, owner of Duluth's Park Cafe and Payne-Corley House. The emcee will be Dallas McCade of radio station Kicks 101.5 FM.
Educational classes led by GMC experts will focus on topics such as fitness, nutrition, stress and sleep. Fitness classes will include pilates, cardio dance, yoga and zumba.
