Gwinnett-based Athletes Elite Performance will host a pair of combines, one for multi-sports and one for high school football, this weekend at its Lilburn facility at 327 Arcado Road.
The organization, run by former Parkview and Auburn football player Brad Lester, will have its Multi-Sport Player Combine on Saturday from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The event, with a $20 enrollment fee, is open to ages 6 and older (athletes will be divided into age groups) from any sport and features testing in 10-yard start, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, vertical jump, broad jump and AEP's C.O.D. Shuttle.
AEP will give awards to top performers, post results online and mail them directly to campers, post highlights to YouTube and provide performance and nutritional advice to participants.
The AEP High School Showcase is Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. for high school football players, who will be tested in the 40-yard dash, 20-year shuttle, broad jump, bench press and 60-yard shuttle.
The day also includes competitive one-on-one drills, elite performance rating, body weight measurement and the new high school Wonderlic Test. Nutrition and sports performance seminars also are planned, and the results will be seen by colleges and recruiting services.
The football combine is $35 per person. For more information on either event, email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 678-667-0079.
