GRAYSON -- Gov. Nathan Deal recently appointed Grayson resident Jennifer A. Rippner to the new State Charter Schools Commission.
A news release from Robin Frazer Clark, State Bar of Georgia president, stated that "the entire state of Georgia will benefit from Ms. Rippner's service on the commission, which is authorized to establish charter schools in our state following approval of an amendment to the Georgia Constitution last year."
"Rippner's acceptance of this appointment demonstrates her commitment to public service, which in turn serves to promote the cause of justice, uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all citizens," the release stated.
The State Board of Education appointed seven members to the State Charter Schools Commission on Jan. 18. The commission members are appointed by the State Board of Education based on two recommendations for each open seat from the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor and the Speaker of the House.
