Archer running back Ernest Alexander has committed to the Naval Academy, according to head coach Andy Dyer.
Alexander chose Navy over offers from other service academies Air Force and Army.
The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Alexander rushed for 402 yards and seven touchdowns in six games due to a knee injury. He rushed for 891 yards and 17 TDs as a junior.
Alexander is also an accomplished wrestler. He's the defending state champion at 195 pounds. He holds a 40-0 record this season with 20 pins and is ranked No. 1 in his weight class. His win at the Class AAAAAA dual state tournament secured the state championship.
Alexander is the fifth Archer senior to make a college commitment. Tre Cheek (California), Antonio Riles (Florida), Deondre Singleton (Duke), Andre Smellie (Shorter) and Zach Wachholz (Air Force) will also be signing scholarship on National Signing Day on Wednesday.
Archer's first college signee was Kris Hurley to Georgia Military College. He has committed to Presbyterian.
